I agree so there is some separation there but because women also can't be viewed as too masculine, then they don't get those jobs so distribution of jobs ends up fairly even.
What if men were the superior gender? Why should they get more pay though? Just because they have more to offer doesn't mean that they should get more benefits. I believe that everyone should be equal because although we have less to offer in some categories, in other categories we excel.
I agree that men and women are not equal in the job field but, what else makes them unequal?
In general, women are treated differently from men. Although it does sometimes happen, men aren't mistreated as often as women. Whereas women are victims from a lot of men taking advantage of them. An estimated 1 in 4 women have been victims of sexual assault but only 1 in 6 men have been victims.
That is not as much of trash as being mistreated or used like things instead of people.
I agree with most of your argument, but I would say that it is a little too far to say that women are "treated like trash." Although we are not all treated the same, women aren't treated like trash.
Another place there is a flaw in equality is in the sports field. It is always big news when a men's sports team wins, but women are hardly ever congratulated if they get a win for their team. No matter who is playing, women or men, if they are your sports team, they should be congratulated for it.
I totally agree! Women are always passed up or jobs because they are seen as weaker and inferior to men.
Everyone says that men are physically stronger, thus, women are already set up for discrimination and unequal opportunities. Because of women's lack of strength, they don't get some of the jobs, like a construction worker, that men can easily get. A lot of the time women are passed up because they are quieter and have more internal control which presents them, again, as weak and incapable.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
