I don't think that airport officials should use profiling to prevent terrorist attacks. I think airport officals should take people more cautiously though. In the most recent terrorist attack, the terrorist tried to blow up a plane that was headed from Amsterdam to Detroit. He tried to detenate the bomb by using hydrogen peroxide. Anybody could get hydrogen peroxide from the local CVS or Wal-Greens.

The terrorist, named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, is from Nigeria. I assume that he is probably of color. Also, he is 23 years old. When we think of Al-Qaeda, or any other terrorist organization for that matter, we automatically think of some Saudi Arabian, 52 year old male, most commonly named Osama or something.

In conclusion, I think that profiling of any sort is utterly ridiculous and that we, as citizens should take a stand to defend ourselves and our aircrafts.

I believe that tourture is justified sometimes. If you operate a secret spy mission and you caught somebody from the opposing team, wouldn't you want to torture them to find out what the next form of attack would be from them? I know I would. Like on James Bond 007, he is caught a few times, and the enemies torture him by using a whip, dunking his head in ice cold water and not feeding him. They did this becuse they hoped he would give in.

I believe that students should be allowed to attend the high school of their choice purely based on the fact that if they want to go to a certain high school with specialties and such that they should be allowed. The district is divided up into sections. If you live in a certain section, you go to a certain school. This is beneficent both for the school and for the student. For the school, it is divided evenly among all the high schools and for the students because it is supposed to be the one closest to your house.

If you have the desire to go to a specialty school because you want to major in a specialty that they provide, then, by all means, go.

But if you have the desire to go just because you can, then there really is no point. You would be depriving another student the privilage of going just because you can do that?

I believe that presidents should be allowed to serve more than two terms but less than four. President Franklin D Roosevelt was to only president to serve four terms but they were not full terms. He died in office during his last term.

Thinking about it, each term is four years long. If somebody serves two terms, that is eight years. If a person serves three terms, that is twelve years.

The average life span of the American citizen is about 78 years. If you serve 3 terms, you spent about 15% of your life in office.

You have to be atleast 35 years old to even e considered to run for office. That means 44% of your life is gone already and you will add another 15% to actually running a country. In turn, you on have 41% of your life to enjoy.

Also, in addition to the time and effort, you could not possibly imagine the stress that is not mentioned on the job application.

I do not supposrt the deportation of illegal immigrants. Granted, the immigrants came to America illegally, trying to pursure a better life is not illegal. In the Constitution, it is stated that the basic rights of every human is the "right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness".

If the immigrant is caught, i believe that they should not be sent back and that they should have the right to pursue a legal citizenship. They should still be able to live here and should be required to pay taxes but they should also be put on a sort of probation from full citizenship.

In the United States, typically, you hear the term "Go Green". Go Green refers to the task of people transforming into more eco-friendly citizens. It may sound easy but effort is not always cheap. People may buy products like decomposable paper plates or not using water bottles but that my cost more.

If cost is an issue, then what makes you think that a country that cant provide for their own can possibly have the first priority of taking care of the enviornment?

Im not saying that people shouldnt respect the land on which they live. Im saing that its not as an important concern. Taking care of the people rather than the land is of greater importance.

Its cost to green. You also pay a price when you dont.

So the real question is: "would you take the chance of having people survive on a not-so-stable land or would you rather have the stable enviornment and agriculture without the steady population of people?"

The United States pros do outwiegh the cons. All the deaths that the US has suffered has been for a good reason and a good cause.

Slavery deaths were to fight for their right to be a citizen.

Native American deaths were so we could have the land.

Every country has a differnt governtment. Our government

has 3 branches. Each one has equal power to each other.

Although the past has had the attitude of "conquer or be conquered", today there are many different approaches on how to solve differences instead of war.

Wars like the Civil war, the Native American wars, and the Revolutionary War, couldve been solved more peacefully.

I think that schools dont kill creativity because each person gets to express their individuality. Students get to dress how they want, act like they please, within reason, and get to play sports.

I think of creativity as individuality. If a person is part of a team, each person brings something different and unique to the table.

Teachers apprciate individualism. I also agree with Kayleigh in saying that creativity is an individual's attribute which nobody can take away.

Creativity is defined as the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination, according to dictionary.com.

Based on how people look, fashion designers are considered creative because they create or created something that no one has ever thought of or done before.

At MacAthur, there are different classes for different people. There is sports management, art, english (for writing), speech, music classes, fasion design, ect.

Creativity and originatlity are two different things. Orginality is coming up with something on your own and creativity is when you take something and make it your own.

For example, in music, every musician has taken something from classical music. There is always something that starts a chain reaction. Without classical music, there wouldnt be the bands, or songs that bands created, today.

So does that mean that all the bands have no originality or does that mean that they just added some of their own pizzazz to the orgininal piece of work?

I think that it doesnt because each person gets to express their individuality. They get to dress how they want, act like they please, within reason, and get to play sports. What more could do to be creative?
