Stereotyping has always been unjust. Segregating people, especially by considering some to be terrorists based soley on their appearance, is unfair.

In order to protect against an attack, you need to check ALL passengers of a plane and ALL people coming into an airport. Profiling isn't necessary because anybody could be the cause of an attack and anybody, regardless of religion, race or gender, could be a terrorist.

No one person should be singled out. Because there are so many people who could fit image America has constructed of a terrorist (and so few actual terrorists who look that way when boarding a plane) every person should go through the same, tight security and not be singled out because of race or religion. For each person to go through such extensive security just to walk into an airport is a hassle, but it's necessary in order to keep airports as safe as possible from ANYBODY who is planning an attack of any kind.

Everyone is a human being despite whatever horrible mistakes they might make and I believe it is inhumane to harm another being regardless of what they might have done wrong. There are other means of punishment, such as prisons, mental institutions and sometimes, if the crime was great enough, death by injection; all of which are a removal of the person who has done wrong from the society they are damaging.

If you need any sort of information from a person, there are ways of getting it besides tortue. Obtaining information through psychological devices is much more effective and causes less damage than physical harm ever has or will.

In the case of physical harm, some people try to justify it through revenge; an eye-for-an-eye. Torture isn't an appropriate response to any sort of conflict. Causing severe harm to another being makes you just as cruel, just as corrupted and wrong as whomever you are torturing.

Who are we to determine what requires torture and what doesn't?

Students should be allowed to choose the high school they want to go to as long as the school isn't already overcrowded. People can apply to any college they want, so why shouldn't they be able to apply for high schools?

In most cases, the feeling that you can succeed is derived from how supported and confident you feel where you are at the moment. If a student is in an environment that makes them feel supported and motivated to be sucessful, then they are more likely to be successful. If a student is forced to go to a school they don't like and feel uncomfortable in they could have conflict with other students, anger issues, and depression. Each student should have a chance to better themselves and work on a better future. The way you develop intellectually and socially throughout high school can affect you for the rest of your life, so why shouldn't students be able to go the high school that you feel will make your life better?

If someone else is able to "finish off the great deed" that the original leader has set, then why shouldn't they? A new person in office after even the greatest ruler's two terms could bring fresh ideas and motivation to the table. New potential presidents should be introduced regularly for the American people to take in all of their options for a leader and a future. The current president's ideas could be great, but there could easily be someone out there with better ideas that isn't being heard because the country is so closed-minded and centered around this one person leading for so long. It's also very likely that the president will crack under such constant stress and pressure and need someone to take their place.

A president should be allowed more than two terms if the public votes for them to remain in office. If the country believes their president has the mindset, motivation, fresh ideas and strength to continue moving the country forward in a positive way, then they should be able to reelect that person for as long as they see fit. Elections are in place to determine who citizens believe will lead our country in the best possible way. If Americans support what a person is accomplishing during his or her presidency, then they should be able to run in another election and serve a third term or more to continue to carry out their plans and their supported, respected and trusted leadership.

Illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to live somewhere that they haven't become a legal citizen of, but I do think they should be given a chance to apply for everything they need and take tests to become a citizen after they've been deported and realized the risks of being illegal. If a person wants to be a citizen of a different country so badly, they should apply for a Visa and take care of whatever they need to in order to become a part of that country legally. Taxes legal citizens pay are going towards healthcare and education for everyone in hospitals and schools, and if you aren't legal and part of that tax-paying system, then you're benifiting from everyone else's hard work without aiding them, and are stealing from the people who have become legal citizens. It's well worth all of the paperwork and time to sort something out the correct way and not run the risk of being pushed back out of the country they want so badly to be part of.

Absolutely not. With so much tension and fighting going on now, the last thing the world needs is another topic to argue about. If a developed country FORCED a developing country to protect the environment it's very likely that there could be a major conflict. Most of the more powerful countries are already viewed as the bad-guys, so why add to the reputation? I do support the preservation of the environment and I think it would be wonderful if everyone felt the same and worked together for a cleaner and healthier earth, but force is unnecessary at the moment. On the other hand, world-wide encouragement to protect the environment would be wonderful. It's also much more likely that people would listen to a positive influence like encouragement rather than being forced to do something. When we can find a way to reach everybody and teach the importance of protecting the environment, a small nudge in the right direction could be possible, but for now, conflict and force should be avoided.

Although the creation of America has hurt so many lives in the past, people have pushed through all of the destruction to build up a country that can give any person freedom, and that's a great thing. America is very unique from other countries in the way that no matter who you are, regardless of race or gender, you have equal job opprotunities and personal freedoms. Despite the long span of hardships and sometimes outright cruelty people have faced through the years, citizens here have more freedom and opprotunity to succeed than citizens in any other country. This continual growth through time is worth the terrible things people have endured as it leads to a better life for all Americans in the future, along with a better understanding of the importance of equality.

School has no control over creativity in a person. Creativity is an individual characteristic. Despite restrictions on whatever work assigned, how the work is developed (both reatained in the student's mind and created in a physical representation) depends on how the student interprets the assignment. And even if the rules on a particular assignment are strict and exact, the way the student retains the information given and interprets their view of everything they learn is done very much in their own (creative) way.
