To my knowledge people are able to change and make themselves better people. I would much rather have the hope that my father could be a good father, than know that I will never meet him. I would be too curious as to what kind of father he could of been.

I would not turn my spouse into the authorities if they had committed murder, because even if they did I'm sure it had to be out of defense or for good reason. I would have to contemplate to myself on whether or not they did the "right" thing for quite sometime I'm sure, but ultimately I would disregard the incident. The only reason I would turn them in would be for my safety. If I thought that my life was actually in jeopardy then I would absolutely call the federalies.

Yes, I beleive that at this age students should be required to study shakespear's works. Teenagers should be intelligent enough to understand literature at shakespear's level. I'm not saying teens should be smart enough to write like shakespeare, but at least be able to study it. If kids at this age aren't able to take an english with adequate study over shakespeare, then it's because they are lazy or have no business being in high school.

I believe that there is no other power that can affect one's freedom. Other powers may make one's freedom illegal in any way, but essentially does not take it away. One may still be able to be free outside of that powers boundaries or on their own. There are consequences for breaking laws, if being free is illegal, but you can always choose to make your own decisions. What has been done to an individual cannot truly take away someone's freedom.

I believe that to a certain extent, schools can subside ones creativity. Such as making all assignments on laptops and the internet. All of the work is banal and ordinary word documents or tests online. How does this truly allow a student to be original? This type of modern day technology has the power to kill all creativity or be a catalyst towards greater creativity. I think it just all depends on what the teachers or school faculty will allow you to do on the laptops. As a student at Macarthur High School I can honestly say that even though we have a great system with the laptops, there are too many restrictions to where you can't really do anything at all. If students had a little mor efreedom on the laptops i think creativity would be the least of our worries..

I agree, Mac has gotten better this year about fighting and vandalizm. I think it is partially because of security surveillance.

I believe that the current level of surveillance at macarthur is required to keep us safe and keep kids from doing things they shouldn't. Personally, I do not have a problem with video surveillance, because i'm not ever doing anything that would get me in trouble at school. If you do have a problem with cameras watching the halls of macarthur, then you are probably inquiring to or already doing illegal activities.

I do not beleive that students should receive tickets thirty minutes after a school event, because school is one the safest places for students to stay. By kicking students off of school property, the authorities are forcing children to stay at places that aren't as safe. Examples of locations that students might have to resort to are gas stations, parking lots, residential streets, and maybe even have to walk all the way home. Most all school events end at night. This raises the safety risk to an extreme level. How can police think this is a good idea? It's absolutely rediculous that this policy has taken affect.
