Profiling should be used to stop terroism not because its the most effective way to identify terroist subjects but because it allows a greater chance of preventing a major disaster. The terroist that failed to blow up the plane from Ghana was a muslim. Although he didnt fit the sterotypical look of a Middle Eastern person with a long beard and turban he was still a muslim. I think that if this had been taken into account and the security guards had searched him a little longer the incident would not have happened. I believe that all aspects of a person should be examined if of one of those aspects is related to a violent or destructive tendency. Profiling is degrading i will admit to that but if one indiviual's pride is hurt in order to stop hundreds of deaths i think its worth it.

If the person you torture is satan personified, isn't nessecary to become a devil to stand in his way

Torture is possibly the most infamous idea ever invented by humankind to cause destruction, death, bitterness, and war. Yet it is sometimes our salvation which makes me think that this grave injustice has to be justified. Do i support the methods of torture no but i do recongize and in a degree respect what it accomplishes in its product yes. I would rather subject one indiviual to all the cruelties of humankind then suffer with the deaths of millions. If torture is used to find out information that would protect and save the masses then it has to be done no matter the cost of the victim.

Why is having the arts a huge part of a school a bad thing. Some schools barely have a enough kids that are willing to be in those classes. I understand that too many kids is a problem but having more kids wanting to learn about the arts is better than a couple kids.

Students should be allowed to choose their highschool for one reason, learning is a choice. Yes learning can be forced upon you by other factors such as parents and teachers but without the desire to learn the information we get passes over our heads. If the student doesn't like the place he or she is attending then their is no desire to work. I think that in order for the student to learn they need to be in an enviroment that they want to be in. A saltwater fish will not live in fresh water, same with a smart student in a below average school

The presidency is meant to be short for a reason, but i think it is also nesscary to increase its length at times. Unfortunately some people that are exposed to power for a period of time allow it to get to their head influencing their judgement. For this very reason our founding fathers decided to create a government based upon a person elected by the people to rule. Yes the person might become a dictator but our other systems of government are there to be able to stop his government choices. The president is suppose to be the exceutive of the people choosing how the America should live based on what the people want. So if a president is well liked and good then he must be doing something right. The poltical parties also have to choose to pick this person to represent their own interests. I also think that if in the case of a war a change in leaders might be disastrous. Exchanging someone that is stubborn for a person willing to do anything to save lives is a horrible choice.

America was fought and created by immigrants because we are a nation of many people. America would definitively not be what it is today without the huge migrations of the worlds people to create the melting pot of ideas to form our culture. Yet this nation was created legal immigrants people that were tested and bought their right to come here. My ancestor was a Russian Jew that escaped the pressures of the Russian Orthodox church. But he didn't just sail into New York he was tested medically and mentally through Ellis Island until he was accepted. I will admit that Illegal immigrants do the manual labor and crap jobs that no one else would do ,but the only reason that no one would do the job is that the jobs are already taken. Foreign countries whether across the sea or in our very state have slowly taken over a huge part of the jobs leaving a large American workforce with no where to go. I very much support immigrantion but i think there needs to be a reopening of a Ellis Island type building in the south.
