Today America is a place where both men, women, and people of different races are guaranteed their basic rights. Yes we did make big mistakes in our past but we're doing something about it so we can have a bright future. Most people today who are from different countries like Sudan, Iraq, or North Korea think of America as heaven because things are soo bad in their country because genocide is going on or road side bombs are going off or the government keeps their people malnourished. These people wouldn't care about America's past because America is doing something to make up for its mistake and it is creating a bright future for itself.

Although we've had to overcome several obstacles, it's those obstacles that have made us a stronger country. It doesn't take much to start a fight, battle, or war with someone, but it takes pure strength, not just of our forces but as a whole, to resolve things and move on. If anything, we've gained every time we may have "lost". Winning or losing a battle doesn't mean we have won or lost as a country, it just means we had improvements to make. Over the years, the problems we had in the past (with more to come in the future) have and will continue to allow our country to flourish.

All of the war and suffering in the U.S seems to be bad, but if you look at the big picture, all of the war and suffering led to a brighter future, which we currently live in today. Slavery and the wiping out of the natives is seen as brutal and heartless today, but without slavery or conquering, we wouldn't be anywhere. Our economy and technology wouldn't have built up to what it is now, and without slavery, we wouldn't have all of the laws and amendments that allow freedom to all now. In addition to that, the U.S was not the only country that had slavery or wiped out other civilizations, we were just following the fad. Yes, there are many cons, but the pros simply outweigh them. Without past mistakes, we would have nothing to learn off of, and we wouldn't know what was right or wrong.

The pros definitely outweigh the cons because we have evolved to be a better nation even in our roughest times in the past. It is true that the decisions made were not great, but we have learned for the most part what not to do. I am not proud of our country's past, but we are living in a free country that is an acceptable place to live in. We can't change the past, but we can learn from the mistakes that our country has made to prevent them from happening again. Sometimes we just have to realize what has happened and remember that we are in a good situation and that the past is the past and it wont happen again.

Yes, i think the pros outweigh the cons becasue today we still stand here. We have many priviliges that other countries are still fighting to gain. We are ahead of many countries and peoples because of what the pros established. Yes,today we are going through a rough time in the US but we stand united and we wouldn't be here if it weren't for the pros.

Almost any nation in the world has gone through horrible events similar to this country's. But, it all depends on how you handle and rebuild from these situations, and that determines if all the violence and bloodshed and destruction of human's rights was worth it. I personally believe the way the U.S. has handled all of its hardshiships has produced one of the most successful and powerful nation's in the world that everyone seems to want to live in.

The pros do outweigh the cons, because if they didn't we probably wouldn't be here today. If the cons overtook the pros, then the world would probably be a war itself. On the other hand, if the world were perfect, there would be trillions more people living in the world today. Which would mean that no one would have ever been killed because of someone elses doing or pupose. Since the world has bad, but more good, we can't always assume that the cons outweigh the cons.

The pros would win, because everything in the past help make a better future. Slvery would be an example. Long ago blacks weren't even considered citizens. All they were able to do was work on plantations. Now there free and treated equal. Even though those were terrible times, it help shape America in general.

I wouldn't say that the pros outweigh the cons, but the establishment of the U.S. wasn't completely bad thing. Many great civilizations killed many other rivals in the area that they conquered (Which would stand for wipping out the Indians) and many other civilzations used slaves to get labor done, even in Africa its self. I'm not saying that it was a good thing that America killed off, and used people for hard labor, but it's the fact that our country no longer does these things, we moved on from the harsh past (unlike some countries) and that our country is free, and a whole lot more well off.

Everyone has made mistakes, everyone has skeletons in their clostest. It's the same with America. We cant undo what we've done, but we can always learn from the mistakes we've made. Yes, our history is stained with blood of many people, but look at all the good we are doing now. We support many strugiling countries and help people in need. To err is human, to forgive is divine.

Looking back on the events in history there are clearly more pros than cons. Yet some of the the "cons" such as slavery are very important to consider because slaves were not only used for labor but they were used to win our independence from Britain. Lewis and Clarke's exploration was a huge "pro" for America because it started the expansion of civilization for the west. Most Technological advances were made because of America's freedom, allowing creative minds like Edison to shine a light on America's bright future. In conclusion as I have stated previously there are really more outweighing "pros" than "cons".

while we made mistakes in the exploration and establishment of the U.S. the benefits we gained outweigh them. we now have rights we never had before and a combination of different cultures that means the culture of the people we drove out to establish america never truly dies.

The United States has had a very complicated past full of conflicting ideas and beliefs which led to many unsavory acts being comitted as an effect. For example we needed someone to work on our plantations so we forcefully took slaves from Africa and even after we had established our own nation based on freedom they did not gain this right many many years, but as time passed many people began believing that they deservedfreedom just as much as we do, although many disagreed with this idea. This conflict led to the civil war which was a needless cause of death for millions of people. With this just small part of america's unsavory history in mind and looking at America now we see that still not much has changed in the minds of the people and we still have a ways to go before i change my mind.

America has not had a pleasant history to get to the point where we are now, which still needs improvement. There has been slavery, and ill treatment of equal people who had the horrible luck to be born at the wrong time or in to the wrong family. Americans still force Native Americans on to small reservations that can't keep their culture alive. America is headed in the right direction, but no matter how much good you do, it doesn't erase the past.

I think that that though in the beginning of our country the mindeset and philosphy of freedom and liberty for all could have deveolped into the greatest nation ever in history we lost it. In our attempt to create this eutopia of free people we decided that to extend that view we had to destroy the homes and cultures of anyone living in OUR land. Native Americans that had maintained and made a home of the west were now suddenly a small barrier in the way of the greater good. To build an economy worthly and strong enough to sustain the nation we ripped people out of their own country and shipped them like cattle to work for the rest of their life.I think America is the eutopia of freedom and liberty on paper but the people that built this nation destroyed its ideals

All though the U.S. is a great place to live. I do not believe that the pros outweigh the cons. Even though slavery no longer exists and women have rights it does'nt change everything our ancestors went through to get us at where we are today. Yes women have rights but women still they constantly have to push themselves X2 to be seen equally as men. Though slavery has been abolished that doesnt change the racist people that still live in the U.S.. Still in some strange form or way i believe the pros could never outway the cons and the sacrifices people went through to get us where we are now.

Although the United States' establishments did change the world the past lived in, now, in the present, we realize that our civilizations rules have changed, but the thoughts haven't. For example, the past created rights for women so women could be treated equally, but to this day women still aren't treated the same as men. Back then, it seemed to be a big change, but as time passed, we, as the present, still think before the old change.

While we came for riches and fame, what we got was blood and hate. We came and we trampled on the Native Americans and put them in a secluded area in the US. We fought our mother country, told them we're old enough, and shoved them out of here. When someone didn't believe in our beliefs we simply forced our ideals into them by force. We enslaved African Americans because we felt we could. Even now we think of ourselves as the mighty country that will forever be right.

The pros will never outweigh the cons because the memory and hurt will still be with those people and families who suffered the cons to form the U.S.
