Should the government be able to secretly monitor suspicious individuals? (6)

I think it is right to monitor a suspicious person. I think that if the person is under suspicion of doing something bad then if they do any good investigating then i think it would be pretty obvious if they are doing some illegal or not. If they still are under suspicion then they should take some action.

If the government sees a possible terrorist threat, I believe they should act on it. Sure it violates your privacy, but the lives of others is more important. If you truley care about the lives of other people than you would sacrifice your 4th amendment right to save them. It should be a no brainer.

Because I care about my life, they should. Most likely if the goverment supects something, you're doing something you shouldn't have any business doing any way.

It is an invasion of privacy, but is losing you're life worth losing a terrorist or wrong-doer's respect?

I believe the government has the right to act upon any suspicious act from an individual that may be tending to harm the country or humanity. It is true that privacy might be an important thing to many people, but I highly dought its more significant than life itself.

The government should check on people if they are doing suspicious things that no one knows about, because they are just protecting everyone from being killed and they should arrest the person because they mith be a tarorrist, but if that person is just doing a project even if it looks suspicious to the government they should ask what you are doing with it and what you are using it for.

When your at school and the principle thinks your suspicious about anything dont they watch your every move? When they think somebody is up to something then yes they should watch them, if that is what makes me and my family safe then why would i care?

I don't think they should invade someone's privacy just based on someone they suspect are doing something bad. They should have some kind of proof or hard evidence that could actually prove that they are posing some type of threat towards the people in America.

No. People should be able to do things with out the government all over there back. If the government was doing what they are suppose to do they wouldn't have to sneak and do things like this. Now if they are on the terrorist list then yea they should. But they cant just do it to everyone.

I mean the government is always doing something shiesty to people in one way or another so they should'nt get to add one more thing to their list. Honestly who is'nt suspicious in their eyes?

The government should not be able to secretly monitor what we do or who we talk to because if the government did monitor us then they would be violating our rights that we have i mean yea there are people that should be monitored carefully because of there suspicious activitys but it still doesnt give them the right to just spy on someone even though we have the patriot act wich allows the government to tap youre fone monitor youre bank accounts and all the other stuff that has to do with the government spying on you.

It really depends on who the government is trying to monitor. If its a terriost or somebody that is trying to harm our country or a certain person. It will be okay to monitor that certain individual because it will prevent something dangerous from happening to that person. But if the goverment is trying to monitor a individual that hasn't done anything wrong it is not right because its invading into someone privacy who hasn't done anything.

Anybody can act suspicious and sometimes the government may take it the wrong way. And by digging into people's personal and private space, that wouldnt be right because what if,after all that person wasnt doing anything bad? And nobody likes people going into their personal business and listening and following what they are doing. nobody likes that. If the person is actually doing something really susbicious then maybe the government should check on what they are doing just a couple of times but not always.

Our Government has always made it seem like we are a free country, to other countries. A place where they can come, start over, and build a life of freedom. Being free does not include being secretly monitored. Plus, most people that do threaten and plot things to do, do not plan them obvious enough for the Government to catch on. So, they are invaiding our privacy, when, for the most part, they do not catch people through this method.

I do not think that the governtment should be able to spy on you secretly regardless if your doing something suspicious, because looking through peoples private things is unexceptable regardless of the patriot law. Now if something ends up happening around the same time they see you doing something wrong than that is a different case but just spying on you off of curiosity than NO!

I think not because the government gives us the right to bear arms, and they also gives us the "life, liberty, and persiut of happiness". They have no right to look at our lives. How are they going to be able to do their job if they are to busy looking at our lives. I believe everybody needs their privacy even if they are doing something suspicous. That's what nosy neighbors and the FBI is for.

AND!! I know about 3 people that died trying to be nosy. So if the government is spying on us , they could die to. What would we do without the government??

I don't think they should, because whenever they do, the government just causes paranoia. Although there are some people out there that do have evil intentions of taking over the world, for the most part people are scared to carry out their actions. It really doesn't matter what I say anyways, the government is probably monitoring me as I'm typing this sentence. NOBODY IS SAFE!
