First off, I'm Sophie Gabriela Hernandez, call me boob for now.

Boob as in the bird, or IF you want to dissagree with this debate, Call me booby as in "fool". I'm in school other wise known as "the dungeon", "the low pit", or "CC:short for creativity Crasher." "CC" is My Favorite, NOT ONLY because this in my blunt opinion is true, but because it sounds like a type of battery kind of like triple "A" or double "A" why not make my brand Double "C"? Well Anyway, I "Ms. Boob the bird" have been shot down in the wild Amazon Rain Foriest. All of My CREATIVE ideas are gone. I mean this whole "CC" School, Has taken the AK47, and blown my heart out. The side of my creativity wants to come out, but is shot down. I want to wear a red bandana, not because I'm A "Blood", But Because it matches the school colors, but no. I can't? Because if I do then i am named "The Blood bird" ya know? OH YEAH, SOPHIA'S IN A GANG. Not? or with the whole ID number? why can't we be creative and have letters in them. Or the whole consept of we will win? who is we? the school? because "us" the creative students are losing. And The dying hair rule? Excuse Me if i didn't want my hair the color of the average american. Or in the art room? you have to shade a certain color, or outline with a certain sharpie marker? Where in Heck is the creativity in two BLAN colors? ALLLLLLLL i'm sayin', is this place needs to slap the tum' a little bit, and let loose.

SHAWTY GET LOOSE. and CREATIVE.

Schools have restrictions on what we can and can't do. I feel like there should be no limitations on expressing ourselves. How can we students be completely creative when we have limitations on how we dress, think, and act?

I'm for it because I hate that the school limits what we can wear. I want to be able to express myself creatively with any outfit I want to wear.

Schools have a structure that requires students to rush to and from periods. On top of that most classes will go over the allotted time and will put the students in a state of unrest and giving them less time to go to the next period. All of this creates an environment that will leave students no time whatsoever to let their minds relax and let the ideas flow. The school system is designed much like a prison, inmates begin the day with a schedule and must report to that area at that exact time or else there will be consequences, they also have a structured lunch schedule that clashes different groups of inmates together at once making it so that even during a time of "rest" they cannot relax. The prison also restricts what can be brought to the inmate, what the inmate can wear, and who can visit the inmate. However, prisons do not give out homework or force any extra activities like schools do. Now the last time I checked, the people in prisons do not overflow with creativity. One might argue that people in prisons had no creativity to begin with and people in schools have more. Creativity has no impact on the choices you make that will end you up in jail and most people in jail have been in school along with everyone else. So, the school systems have become 8-hour prisons that will create frustration for students and leave them with no time to relax and let their ideas and creativity flow.

I feel like school actually does kill creativity because teachers give you assignments but you always have set rules you have to follow. Very rarely do teachers give you a project and not give you a set of rules you have to follow. Although schools have art classes those class still have set rules you have to follow as you create your work. In the end school is a creativity killer.

I think schools do kill creativity because they don't let us express ourselves to a full extent. Schools have limitations on everything. Like, we can wear what we want but even that has it's rerstrictions. Some classes have restrictions on what color paper, and pens we use, that's boring! Most people think "out of the box" but aren't able to use their ideas because others think that it's over the top or too much.

LIMITS, thats the word that comes to mind whenever you think of school. Can you really put a limit on imagination or creativity and still be able to call it imagination or creativity? No, you can't.

I do think that it does kill creativity because we don't really have freedoms of anything. Yeah we get to wear what we want, but we have restrictions on it. We don't really get to say what we want because you might get into trouble if you do. Yeah they're somethings that you can do freely, but most everything that goes on, there's restrictions.

Schools kill creativity because they put limits on what we can and can't do. They limit what we can and can't wear just because certain people go against the rules. We should be able to wear certain clothes (basketball shorts, sweats, etc.) if we have a good reason to. Also, we have creative classes, but they don't let us create what we really want to. They limit our creativity just because it might be inappropriate.

Schools do kill creativity. Teachers tell us to use our imagination, but when we do.. they say its too much.Think about it. What freedom do we really have here? People cant dye their hair whatever color they want, we get told what to wear & the restrictions that go with it, its not fair. There's no way for us to truly express ourselves at school, point blank.

Regarding work, schools do kill creativity because there are limits to what you can and can not do. The term every single teacher/admisistrator usues is school appropriate. Ok, sure its good to be school appropriate but somethings can not be explained by happy puppy dogs and rainbows. There are some limitations to how much you can do aswell. Some things need to be long explainations when your are only limited to a page or a paragraph.

A lot of people think that schools kill creativity because you have to get up early, go through a schedule, and follow numerous directions. However, I think that schools actually encourage creativity. School is a place where we meet most of our friends, are invited to join different organizations depending on our hobbies (band, orchestra, sports teams, cardettes, cheerleading, theatre, debate, etc.), have the opportunity to be in advanced or remidial classes, and, at our school, we're allowed to wear whatever we want, as long as it's respectful. We're pretty much allowed to be ourselves, as long as we aren't being disrespectful or breaking the law.

Everyone knows that school has its rules, limitations, and boundaries that hinder creativity, but looking from a different point of view certain classes can enhance and help our creativity grow. Art allows us to express ourselves on paper or on a canvas. Band, Choir, and Orchestra lets us express ourselves through music. Many fine arts classes assist us in being creative. Core classes can also help us. In English, you can be creative through writing essays. I'm not saying that school gives us the ideal environment for being creative, but it doesn't exactly KILL creativity completely.
